Studio Fable began in a small converted warehouse in Greenpoint with a sprung floor, a secondhand sound system, and a belief that the dance world had made itself far too small.

Our founder had spent a decade in company life and loved the craft, but not the gatekeeping. Fable was the answer: a place where a five-year-old’s first plié and an adult’s first hip hop class are treated with the same seriousness and the same warmth.

Today we run more than fifty classes a week across four studios, send hundreds of dancers to the Brooklyn Academy of Music each spring, and still greet every new face at the front desk like a neighbor. Because they are.
