FAQ

Good Questions.

The things people ask us most, answered plainly. Do not see yours? Call the front desk or send a message and we will help.

Do I need any experience to start?
None at all. Our Adult Beginner classes and youth entry levels are built for true first-timers, and your very first class is free. If you have never danced a step in your life, that is exactly who those classes are for.
How does the free first class work?
Pick any beginner-appropriate class on the schedule and book a free trial. You come in, take the full class, and decide afterward whether to enroll for the term or drop in. There is no obligation and no card required to try.
What should my child wear to their first class?
For ballet, a leotard, tights, and ballet shoes; for hip hop, comfortable clothes and clean sneakers; for contemporary, fitted layers and bare feet. When in doubt, anything they can move in is fine for a first class, we will point you to the specifics after you enroll.
How is enrolment structured, terms or drop-in?
Youth classes run on Fall, Spring, and Summer terms so dancers progress together toward the seasonal showcase. Adult classes offer both term enrolment and single drop-in passes, so you can commit to a schedule or come when it fits your week.
How old does my child need to be to start?
We welcome dancers from age three in our Creative Movement class, move into graded Foundation Ballet from age five, and open hip hop from age seven. There is a class for nearly every age from toddler through adult.
Where are you located and where do I park?
We are at 1245 Greenpoint Ave in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, a few minutes from the G train at Greenpoint Ave. Street parking is available in the neighborhood, and the studio is stroller-accessible for parents dropping off younger dancers.
Do you offer performance opportunities?
Yes. Every term builds toward a performance, and our biggest is the annual Spring Showcase at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, where more than 400 dancers take the stage. Advanced dancers can also audition into our competitive youth and teen crews.
